Shauna Bannon Dublin fighter at the IMMAF World Cup
One of the world’s most popular sports, the IMMAF World Cup takes place from the 8th to the 11th of September, and Dublin’s best-known garage is proud to sponsor ‘one of our own’ when Shauna Bannon takes to the ring in Prague.
The five-time kickboxing champion only made the leap to MMA a couple of years ago. Shauna hails from Tallaght and has her sights firmly set on gold in the IMMAF showpiece event before going on to make her pro debut as a fighter.
Getting behind the rise of Shauna Bannon
Shauna trains just around the corner from Sweeney’s Tallaght garage and is an inspiration for the people of Dublin, particularly youngsters. At the age of 27, Shauna has achieved all there is to in the sport of kickboxing before taking her up her place in the cage. She’ll be cheered on at the IMMAF World Cup by young son Jayce and the rest of her family.
After a smashed up hand in 2019 curtailed her first forays into MMA, Shauna has gone from strength to strength surging up the world rankings. There’s no let-up after the World Cup either. No sooner has she landed back in Dublin but the Tallaght-fighter will face Lexi Rook in Wolverhampton on October 7th. The self-titled ‘Lady Koszmar’, which translates to ‘Lady Nightmare’, trains out of Liverpool and like Shauna has been catching the eye with her own forays into the cage.
Sweeney’s Garage and Shauna
At Sweeney’s Garage, we were delighted to get behind Shauna’s assault on the IMMAF World Cup. Not only is she a local athlete, proud of her Dublin roots, but she’s one of the brightest Irish MMA talents and considered ‘one to watch’ in the sport.
We fix cars (that’s our slogan – what more do you need?) in Tallaght, Ballyfermot and Dublin City Centre. At Sweeney’s we’re proud of our reputation for employing highly skilled mechanics, welcoming customers in an open, warm environment – one you don’t always find at a garage – and our transparent pricing policy.
You can follow Shauna’s progress at the World Cup on IMMAF website where matches will also be live-streamed. We sure will. And if you have any motoring needs in the meantime, give us a bell, drop us a message or make a booking online.
