Yes, absolutely. While the drivetrain is different, EVs and hybrids still have brakes, tyres, suspension, steering, cabin filters and safety systems that wear and need regular checks. A common myth is that an electric car is “maintenance free.” It isn’t, but the service is different, and often simpler in some areas.
How EV & Hybrid Servicing Differs
A fully electric car has no engine oil, spark plugs, timing belt or exhaust, so several traditional service items disappear. A hybrid, by contrast, has both an electric motor and a conventional engine, so it still needs oil changes and engine maintenance alongside its electric components.

What Gets Checked on a Hybrid or EV Service
